Abbotsford – This year, the Central Fraser Valley Transit System will once again be on hand to connect people to the Abbotsford International Airshow, which runs August 11 to 13 at the Abbotsford International Airport.
The Airshow Shuttle will run Friday late afternoon/evening and all day Saturday and Sunday from Bourquin Exchange in downtown Abbotsford, to Threshold Drive at the airport and back.
On Friday, the first shuttle bus will leave Bourquin Exchange at 4:05 p.m., with the last trip back from the airshow leaving at 10:45 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the first shuttle will depart from Bourquin Exchange at 9:35 a.m., with the last trip leaving the airport at 6:05 p.m. on both days.
The shuttle will also stop at Old Yale and Clearbrook, Townline and Old Yale and Highstreet Mall.
Transit users coming from Metro Vancouver can take route 66 Fraser Valley Express (FVX) from Carvolth Exchange in Langley, and then connect to the shuttle at Highstreet Mall in Abbotsford.
To make it more convenient for bus riders heading to the airshow, the FVX will offer additional service that weekend, adding one trip on Friday night and one on Saturday morning, as well as running four trips on Sunday. The additional Friday trip will leave Highstreet for Carvolth Exchange at 10:40 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the first FVX trip will leave Carvolth at 9:15 in the morning. The last trip on Sunday will leave downtown Chilliwack at 5:15 p.m., stopping at Highstreet Mall at 6:01 p.m. This will allow an easy connection for passengers on board the last airshow shuttle, which will arrive at the mall at 6:13 p.m.
