Vancouver/Chilliwack – It’s a PR nightmare and it’s all about the font of a City logo.
Back in Febbruary, the City of Vancouver was caught up in a firestorm over the change to the city logo.
Lots of money was invested into the design and the cost to change letterhead and their website.
It’s all for not, and the taxpayer foots the bill.
Vancouver Council has voted in favour of dropping the $8000.
It attracted a lot of criticism for being “too simple,” “too dull,” and “too much like Chilliwack’s.”
It also attracted jeers of being a logo that took 15 minutes to create using basic fonts on a computer.
Mayor Gregor Robertson addressed council that it was time to reboot and refresh.
Vancouver voters are supposed to get final say in this.
