Fraser Valley – On May 1, 2015, FVN Fraser Valley News went live on line. This was in response to the fact that there are no radio station news rooms left in the Fraser Valley (Our News Director, Don Lehn started in radio in 1979–38 years ago, Yes he’s THAT old).
There was also a need for an end to end on line voice for Fraser Valley News, Sports and Entertainment. A dialogue for the entire Valley.
FVN is the only LOCALLY OWNED media outlet in the Fraser Valley. All the others have head offices outside of the Valley or outside of BC.
YOU have been the reason for FVN’s growth. YOU have been our eyes, ears and voice of the Fraser Valley and for that, thank you.
Last year, in 2016, Small Business BC honoured us by shortlisting FVN for three Small Business BC Awards: 1) Overall Small Business, 2) Best Marketing including International Marketing and 3) Best Original Concept.
In the two years of operation, we’ve had a Federal Election, a current Provincial Election, plenty of sports including the success of the BCHL Chilliwack Chiefs and the UFV Cascades, concerns about public safety, drug use, transportation as well as business growth.
And we have had a few chuckles and plenty of feel good stories along the way.
