Chiefs Force Game 7 Tuesday Night At Prospera – Win Game 6 In OT

Penticton/Chilliwack – There will be a Game 7 Tuesday night in Chilliwack to crown the BCHL champion after the Chiefs came from behind to defeat the Penticton Vees 3-2 in overtime Monday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The home side got the only goal of the first on Grant Cruikshank’s sixth goal of the postseason and they doubled their lead in the second with Owen Sillinger scoring late in the frame.

Chilliwack finally got on the board early in the third with defenceman Davis Bunz scoring unassisted at 2:21. Continuing to apply pressure, the Chiefs got the equalizer off the stick of Kohen Olischefski with just over five minutes to go.

In overtime, both sides had good looks with Chiefs netminder Mark Sinclair and his Vees counterpart Mat Robson making some nice saves in the early part of the extra session. But just past the eight-minute mark, Vees forward Cassidy Bowes was whistled for a hook on Olischefski in the slot and on the ensuing power play, Will Calverley managed to tip home a shot by Carver Watson to give the Chiefs the 3-2 comeback win.
