Keith Bennett And David Sinclair In Concert – Harrison – April 29

Harrison – On Saturday April 29, Harmonica master Keith Bennett and top tier guitarist David Sinclair will be combining their collective breadth and depth as performers to present a rootsy blend of blues, jazz, and folk, in the Harrison Memorial Hall as the final show of the Harrison Festival Season of the Performing Arts.

Both David and Keith have extensive backgrounds as solo artists, sidemen, and studio musicians. David is well known for his work with kd Lang and his decade long role as Sarah McLachlan’s guitarist, as well as being a first call session player who has performed on more albums than anyone has been able to count, including with Michael Buble and Rita MacNeil. Keith is a multifaceted player who has composed and played on film and tv scores, has performed with the VSO. He was also a top ten finalist at the World Harmonica championships in Germany and is an excellent guitar player and singer as well. The two have an obvious personal and musical chemistry that, combined with their strong musicianship and experience, will surely make for an engaging evening of acoustic music.

In their show, both musicians share lead singing duties, while they intersperse songs with rocking instrumentals, featuring David’s percussive acoustic guitar playing and Keith’s soaring chromatic harmonica. Their set is diverse and engaging, with both original tunes and wild arrangements of songs by the likes of Benny Goodman, Django Rheinhardt, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, and Irving Berlin.

These two masterful musicians have released one album together entitled Alchemy, hinting at the special chemistry they have onstage together.

Tickets for Keith Bennett and David Sinclair are $22.00 and can be purchased online at www.harrisonfestival.com, by phone at 604.796.3664 or in person at the Ranger Station Art Gallery in Harrison and Agassiz Shoppers Drug Mart on Pioneer Ave.
