Weekend Snow = 20-30 cms

Fraser Valley – 5:44 AM PST Saturday 10 December 2016
Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Fraser Valley – east including Chilliwack
  • Fraser Valley – west including Abbotsford

Snowfall with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm expected this weekend.

Cold arctic air over the Fraser Valley combined with precipitation associated with a low offshore will produce another round of snow this weekend. Communities in western sections of the Fraser Valley can expect higher amounts. As well, a there is a risk of freezing rain for western sections of the Fraser Valley tonight and Sunday morning.

The precipitation is expected to ease towards the latter part of Sunday followed by a ridge of high pressure bringing drier conditions and colder temperatures next week.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.tempetepacifique-pacificstorm.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports to #BCStorm.
