Chilliwack Fire – Russell Road Blaze

Chilliwack – On Thursday December 8, 2016 (at approximately 9:45am) the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located in the 46000 block of Russell Road. On arrival fire crews reported seeing smoke and flame through the roof of a 2 story residential townhome.

Firefighters responded from Halls 1, 3, & 4. At the initial stage the fire was stubborn to fight, yet fire crews fought the blaze and limited damage to the unit involved, with no fire damage to neighbouring properties.

Occupants were not home at the time of fire. The residents are now in the care of Emergency Social Services.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental and is still under investigation.
