Chilliwack – With the support of sponsors and guests the Chilliwack Hospice Society raised $86,500.00 at the Under the Big Top Gala Saturday November 5th, 2016.
Since the first Gala in 2004 they have raised $1,011,800.00 to support the services we offer.
Chilliwack Hospice Society has been in operation since 1986 and is a registered nonprofit charitable society. The Chilliwack Hospice Society is a member of the Hospice Palliative Care Team helping to ensure excellence in Hospice Care in Chilliwack. Chilliwack Hospice Society proudly partnered with Fraser Health and Baltic Properties in the opening of the Cascade Hospice Residence. As the community grows so too do the referrals and the need for increased programs and services. All of their services are offered free of charge and the monies raised stay in Chilliwack to serve our community.
Hospice is a philosophy of holistic care providing comfort care to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of dying people and their families. Hospice care is about companioning the dying and embracing the philosophy, ‘You matter because you are you. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.” ~ Dame Cicely Saunders

- Hospice Residence Visiting Team
- Home/Community Visiting Team
- Respite Care
- Vigil Services
- The Relaxation Program
- Visiting Volunteer Programs
- Community Education and Awareness
- First Step Grief Support Group
- Second Step Grief Support Group
- Children’s Grief Support Group
- Horse Whisperer Grief Camp
- Suicide / Homicide Bereavement Support Group
- Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group
Our Programs and Services are available at several locations including; Chilliwack Hospice Society’s Rotary Hospice Centre, Cascade Hospice Residence, Chilliwack General Hospital, or the location that is home to the client.
Chilliwack Hospice Society relies on fundraising initiatives to raise money to provide these important programs. With support from the community we will continue to reach those in need and fulfill our promise of heartfelt support during dying and grieving.
