SUSPECT ARRESTED – Abbotsford – Attempted Abduction of 16 Year Old Girl – Looking For Good Samaritan

Police say a man tried to abduct a 16-year-old girl in Abbotsford Abbotsford – SEPTEMBER 29 UPDATE – Investigators with the Abbotsford Police Department continue to appeal to the Good Samaritan who assisted our victim on Saturday, September 17, 2016. This man was described as Caucasian male in his 30’s, 6’0” tall with short, brown hair that was shaved on the sides.

We strongly believe that this Good Samaritan could offer important evidence that would aid our investigation and we again ask him to contact the Abbotsford Police.

SEPTEMBER 19 UPDATE -Abbotsford Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in relation to this incident. We believe this arrest was the result of the media and public attention that was received. Specifically, the APD would like to thank the Global TV News crew who provided vital information while working in Abbotsford on Sunday concerning the suspect and suspect vehicle.

24 year old Dwight Denis James LOVE-PAULSON, has been charged with Assault in relation to this incident.

APD continue our appeal for the Good Samaritan to come forward to speak to investigators.

SEPTEMBER 18 ORIGINAL STORY – APD are looking into an attempted abduction of 16-year-old girl who was waiting for her bus, around 5 PM Saturday afternoon, at a stop on Old Yale Road near Mitchell Street.

Allegedly he tried to entice her into the van by offering her liquor, and she resisted.  He then tried to pull the girl by the arm and force her into the vehicle. A good Samaritan stepped in and the suspect left.

APD notes that he is described as Caucasian, in his 20’s, 5’10 with a medium build.

He was wearing all black, a baseball cap and work boots, with a tear drop tattoo under one of his eyes.

The suspect vehicle is an early 2000 vintage either burgundy or dark red van, possibly a Ford Winstar or Dodge Caravan.

MacDonald is also asking for the Good samaritan who helped the girl to contact APD.
