Chinook Salmon Fishing Resumes On The Fraser

Fraser Valley/Ottawa – DFO Department of Fishers and Oceans are allowing Chinook salmon sport fishing starting September 19 through December 31, 2016.

Area 29 – Tidal waters of the Fraser River (from the downstream edge of the CPR bridge at Mission to the mouth)

  • Sept. 19 – Oct. 7 2016
    • Chinook: Daily limit of 4, of which only 1 may be 62 cm in length or greater
    • Chum: Daily limit of 4
    • No fishing for Coho or Sockeye
    • You may not use bait when fishing for salmon.
  • Oct. 8 – Dec. 31 2016
    • Chinook: Daily limit of 4, of which only 1 may be 62 cm in length or greater
    • Chum: Daily limit of 4
    • Coho: Daily limit of 2, hatchery marked only. You may not retain wild coho.
