Mission – There is a great organization in Mission that has a new project. People talk about changing the Mission BC downtown core . Here is your chance to pitch in.
The dream is to overhaul the downtown building that previously hosted Hope Central and turn it into a community Hall on the lower level and a coffee house on 1st. The dream literally has two stories. Copper Hall on Railway Ave will host a variety of groups that are helping with social issues in our city while The Penny Coffee House on First Ave will exist for the purpose of giving the wider community a place to drink coffee and eat lunch knowing that a portion of their bill will go directly to supporting the work of Hope Central. They call it coffee that makes cents…pardon the pun.
The good news is that they have been able to secure the building and have a plan for a $300,000 renovation. That said, they would like to expand their renovation and budget to accommodate a commercial kitchen in Copper Hall.
That’s where you come in.
It is a moving thing to watch relationships develop between volunteers and participants who come for one reason and leave having made lasting friendships with someone they would have never expected.
Help them provide equipment that matches the quality of our amazing group of volunteers.
