Surrey/Fraser Valley – Some in the Fraser Valley may scoff at Surrey, bragging about an Agriculture Week. While the Valley is known for veggies and dairy, and a little beef on the side, Surrey has been the brunt of every berry picking joke there is.
Surrey wants to change that.

Learn and celebrate food at the City of Surrey’s first ever Agriculture Week! Find out how food is grown, produced, harvested, processed, purchased, cooked and eaten in the City and across the region. Connect to those involved or interested in food and farming.
Agriculture Week events
Agriculture Land Leasing Workshop
An interactive information session for land owners interested in leasing out their own agriculture land and for farmers, or prospective and/or young farmers/producers seeking to lease land for agriculture purposes. Lunch included.
Agriculture Speakers Forum
Learn what it takes for a healthy, vibrant, resilient food system to function and address the challenges, opportunities, and priorities for strengthening our City’s food system and local economies by attending this forum. This forum will focus specifically on the local dairy industry. Lunch included.
Pie in the Plaza
Pie in the Plaza is a public festival to celebrate food and farming in Surrey. The feature event will be the baking of B.C.’s largest blueberry pie! This fun and educational event includes a mobile petting zoo, seed planting, live music, food trucks, food and craft vendors, games, and interactive informational displays and activities with community organizations.
Farm Fresh Sundays
Starting September 4 and every Sunday throughout the month of September, dine out at local fine eateries and enjoy special dinner menus featuring a minimum of two-thirds locally farmed ingredients.
