August 9 ORIGINAL STORY – The Meadow Rose Family Help Society presents The Roaring 20’s Gala! Step back in time to a venue that celebrates Chilliwack, the early days. The Gala will take place up the beautiful stairs of the Chilliwack Museum and Archives (our old city hall) Saturday, October 1 at 6:30 PM – 11 PM This swanky evening is sure to be the cat’s meow and space is limited!
The Meadow Rose Family Help Society first opened their doors in November 2011. We opened to help families face ongoing struggles when trying to support their children. These “families” come in all types from Grandparents trying to raise their Grandchildren unexpectedly on a senior’s pension, to a middle class family that has been hit with job loss or illness. We have single Mothers, single Fathers, Aunts, Uncles, people on Social assistance and not on Social assistance. The people that we help can be your neighbors, they can be your very own family, and you never know when you can be hit with a financial crisis.
Since our doors first opened up to the end of July 2016 we have helped families in need with ….33,825 diapers, 4,402 assorted baby foods and formula, and a variety of larger baby items numbering in the hundreds! ( strollers, cribs, high chairs etc.)
We are a charity that works with our community to ease hunger and the needs of the impoverished with children under the age of three and under. We do that by acquiring and supplying the basic needs for these children and to be the voice of our community to promote public awareness of these needs.
We, with the community, are able to keep many baby items out of the land fill and recycle them to families in need.
The Meadow Rose Family Help Center Society, Roaring 20’s Gala will be a wine and hor d’oeuvres, Bistro style Roaring 20’s social with silent and live auction.
