Strange Overnight Pedestrian Death On Highway One In Abby

Abbotsford, BC (Global) – The Trans Canada Highway had to be closed in both directions for hours after a police incident in Abbotsford early Wednesday morning.

It’s believed a pedestrian is dead after getting struck just after midnight.

It happened in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1, just west of the Sumas Way exit.

Both Abbotsford Police and RCMP officers responded, closing off the highway between McCallum Road and Sumas Way.

Investigators could be seen scouring the road for evidence.

Several cars were also pulled over as the drivers gave witness statements to police.

It’s unclear what the pedestrian was doing on the road.

The highway has reopened in both directions.
