Vancouver Island Earthquake Felt In Fraser Valley

Fraser Valley/Sidney – Did you feel it overnight?

Some of us slept through it and for others, a little dish rattling and rattled nerves.

Late Tuesday night (11:39PM PST (Dec. 29) a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred approximately eight kilometres ESE of Sidney.

There are currently no reports of damage and none are expected. There is no tsunami threat.

If you felt the earthquake, report it it here. Reserve 911 for life safety issues.

Be aware of the potential for aftershocks. If you feel one, Drop, Cover & Hold On. Stay there until the shaking stops.
