Chilliwack RCMP Looking For Info On Two Robberies

Chilliwack BC – Mounties are looking for info on two recent robberies :

First – RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in the robbery of two taxi drivers.

On October 30, 2015 at approximately 7:15 a.m. a local taxi company was beckoned to an alley in the 46400 block of Chester Drive by a female caller. When the taxi went to the address it was approached by a man with his face covered who allegedly produced a gun and demanded money from the driver. The suspect ran away from the scene with stolen cash.

The following morning of October 31, 2015 at approximately 3:15 a.m. a taxi was summoned for a fare in the alley of the 46400 block of Chester Drive. After the cab arrived for the customer a man with his face covered approached the taxi then allegedly produced a knife and demanded money from the driver. The cabbie drove away without surrendering any cash.

Police were called and in both instances, General Duty officers supported by the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, arrived at the location but after completing a thorough search of the area were unable to find the suspect.

The suspect is described to police as a Caucasian male, 20 – 30 years of age, approximately 175 cm (5’9”), average build with acne and a deep voice wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.

 Second – Chilliwack RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in the robbery of two teens in Sardis.

On October 31, 2015 at approximately 9:00 p.m. three males approached two 16 year old youths sitting at a bus stop in the 5600 block of Vedder Road. While one male started a conversation with the teens a second allegedly kicked one youth before demanding the victim’s carry bag and punching him. The three suspects ran away with the carry bag containing a lap top computer and a Galaxy Tab 3.

General Duty officers supported by the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services quickly arrived to the address but were unable to locate the suspects. The victims were transported home by police officers.

“Our General Investigational Support Team continue to follow all investigational leads to apprehend the persons responsible for this robbery,” said Corporal Mike Rail.

The suspects are described to police as a Caucasian male, 182 cm (6’), wearing all black with a black ‘beany’, and a black Adidas hoody with white logo, a Caucasian male wearing all white clothing, and a Caucasian male wearing dark clothing.
