Chilliwack, BC – A couple from Surrey were taken into custody and later released by police after RCMP executed a search warrant on a downtown house last week.
On Monday Evening September 28, 2015 , RCMP received a report of an assault occurring at a residence in the 46200 block of Gore Avenue. Officers quickly arrived and during the course of their investigation observed what they believe to be illegal drugs in the front room.
Police immediately took two suspects into custody, securing the dwelling before obtaining a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. General Duty investigators supported by Crime Reduction Unit officers returned the following morning and executed the search warrant. Drugs police believe are Cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin; morphine, along with cash, scales, and a loaded .45 caliber handgun were located and seized by police during the search.
The suspects, a 23 year old man and 19 year old woman, were later released from custody pending further police investigation.
