October 4 Is The Annual World Animal Day

Fraser ValleyWorld Animal Day is celebrated yearly on October 4. Their mission statement includes: “speak up for those who have no voice.”

To raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe.

Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilizing it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals.

It’s celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology.

Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognized as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.

Chilliwack based animal activist and Juno Award winning musician and vocalist Lori Paul took to Facebook and posted : We are the caretakers of our planet, for a relatively short time…treating animals with dignity and compassion makes our world a better place for all of us. Every act of kindness is worthwhile, no matter how small. Let’s be good to each other and to animals.
