Five Reasons Why People (From The City) Are Moving To Cultus Lake

Vancouver/Cultus Lake (VanCity Buzz) – Who doesn’t have fond memories of Cultus Lake? From family camping days, to splashing in the lake, hiking the beautiful trails, or enjoying one of the many flavours from Coneheads ice cream.

Cultus Lake sees an influx of people pass through the area during peak seasons to take in the sights, sounds and abundance of recreational activities that the area has to offer. As Vancouver housing prices continue to climb, more people are choosing to forgo city living in favour of a simpler, more relaxed lakeside lifestyle year round.

Here are five reasons why people are moving out to Cultus Lake.

1. Abundance of outdoor recreational activities

Cultus Lake is an outdoor enthusiasts’ dream come true. The area offers everything from golf to water sports and various hiking, walking and biking trails. Whether you’re facing your fears at the Cultus Lake Adventure Park, chasing waves at the Cultus Lake Waterpark, or testing your patience at the Cultus Lake Golf Club, there’s no shortage of things to do and see. With its year-round mild temperate climate, outdoor fun is accessible all year round.

2. Laid back living

With luscious forests, greenery and crystal clear creeks, life at Cultus Lake is the epitome of lakeside living. After a fun-filled day of discovering new trails in the woods, taking in the beauty at Bridal Veil Falls, or trying your hand at some world-class fishing on the Fraser River, you can kick back around a cozy campfire under the star-filled night sky.

3. Family-friendly activities and communities

Get ready to slow down and spend some quality time with your family. Whether you’re spending the day on the lake, or enjoying the rides at the Cultus Lake Waterpark, there are plenty of family-friendly things to do and see. Attractions aside, the area is a safe place where children have the freedom to explore and make new friends, and where all the families work together to foster that small town vibe. Residences like The Cottages at Cultus Lake and the new homes at Creekside Mills at Cultus Lake have seen more families moving in long-term, and cultivating a great gated community.

4. Affordable housing prices

As Vancouver housing prices continue to soar and hit record highs, more and more people are setting their sights on the Fraser Valley because it’s affordable. For less than half of the $1.1-million price tag that a typical single-family home in Vancouver will run you, you could be living lakeside year-round. Creekside Mills at Cultus Lake is one of the area’s newest developments, with single-family homes starting from under $500,000.

5. Location, location, location

Located just 90 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Cultus Lake is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still close enough to jump back in if need be. It’s just a quick 20-minute drive from Chilliwack, where you can grab some local produce from the Farmers Market, and satisfy all of your shopping and dining needs. Also, Cultus Lake is known for its variety of ice cream flavours, so hitting up somewhere like Coneheads is a must after a day in the sun.
