Abbotsford, BC – On Monday Morning (August 17, 2015 at 11:30 am), the Abbotsford Police Department was contacted by a traveler from Georgia who indicated that she and her family had their 26 foot, GMC U-Haul vehicle stolen from the hotel parking lot in the 36000 block of North Parallel Road.

Investigation by police found that the theft was captured on video by the hotel’s security system. It appears a suspect vehicle pulled up beside the U-Haul truck at 3:22 am on August 17 and at 3:46 am the U-Haul was driven away (See video link below).

The contents of the vehicle included most of the family’s possessions with an estimated value of up to $100,000. The woman and her five children were en route to Alaska to join her military husband who was recently transferred there.
