On Monday afternoon August 17, 2015 (5:00 pm) the Abbotsford Police Department received calls reporting an erratic driver in the area of Whatcom Road and South Parallel Road in East Abbotsford.
The suspect, travelling in a black Mercedes was driving in a dangerous and threatening manner according to witnesses.
That Mercedes was initially moving toward Chilliwack in and around Highway 1 but eventually returned back into the vicinity of Whatcom Road.
APD Patrol Division Officers observed the vehicle in the area and eventually located it abandoned in the 36100 block of Waterleaf Place. The vehicle had been stolen from Surrey earlier in the day.
Police set up containment and began searching for the suspect. Just after 8:00 pm, police located the suspect in the washroom of a restaurant on Whatcom Road. The 34-year-old man from Vancouver was arrested without incident.
The investigation is continuing and numerous charges are expected.
