Abby Survey Residents On Current Noise By-Law

Abbotsford, BC (Star FM)  – If you don’t think the city of Abbotsford does enough to crack down on noise complaints, or if you think that things are fine just the way they are, the city wants to know about it.

Staff have posted a link to an online survey on the city website asking about when and where the worst noise problems happen, and what you think about current noise regulations.

The noise bylaw hasn’t been updated since 2008 and the city is looking at putting in some changes, including possibly using decibel levels as an objective noise measurement.

According to a staff report from May, complaints are becoming more frequent than when the current standards came in to being, averaging about 120 per year since 2012.
