Your Opinions, Thoughts, Concerns About The Federal Election

Abbotsford/Chilliwack/Mission/Agassiz/Hope – The writ has been dropped, Parliament dissolved and now we are into a Federal Election camp[aign.

This will be one of the longest in Canadian History.

The NDP calls this a Campaign for Change.

The Conservatives say the election is not about a popularity contest, rather, economic management – calls current conditions “temporary economic challenges”.

The Green Party say they are a national party, Canadians should get to know candidates. “We are the opposite of a party of one.”

FVN Fraser Valley News has opened up our website(this story and others) as well as our Facebook Page and Twitter Account (@FraserVN) for your comments:

Ken Hardie (Formally of ICBC and Translink and now a Lower Mainland Liberal Candidate) – Re Popularity contest – Well…ya gotta go in with a firm grasp of the obvious ;o) and thank you for the reception to yesterday’s news about my candidacy (Surrey) in the federal election. To be clear, it’s me that’s running and not the cute dog.

I’ve never been a fan of making people wrong as a way to make a point because it snuffs out useful dialogue. So there will be no ‘attack ads’ here (trolls, on the other hand, will be squished).

Nor will the next 11 weeks be a constant parade of those dreadful political posts on this channel. Our conversation has to be bigger than that.

So, my tuned-in friends…what do you think is the best way to approach this? I will be following up with another ask a bit later today…gonna do a ‘first’ and walk with Justin in the Pride Parade.

Dianne Forsyth Collins (retired journalist) Let the lies begin! Love how Harper said that the conservatives have not started campaigning…so what do you call the ads about Justin’s hair or all the money that was handed out last week? Please people….let’s vote his ass out of our government and get our Canada back!

Darlene Kobley  – on the “let the lies begin” –  Hahahahahahahahahahahah really???? No Kidding… Now that the Election has been “Announced” I think the money for the campaign should be done like the Crowdfunding premise and only to a certain amount. See who gets there first. Good Idea or what? That way they are not dipping into our tax dollars…hmmmmm

Carla ‏@twiddertoes   Laughing. He who has most votes = most popular, no?
Dolores Rioux   Keep Harper out … we need new blood.

Laura Leah Allan   How often has the popular vote really been reflected in the outcome of the election??? How popular is money?
