Extreme Fire Danger On Sumas Mountain – Interregional Park Closed

Abbotsford, BC – Due to extreme fire danger, Sumas Mountain Interregional Park will be closed to the public as of 7 am on Saturday, July 18. Sumas Mountain Interregional Park is co-managed by Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Regional District.

The western and southern park flanks are within the City of Abbotsford where Metro Vancouver provides regional park services.

The eastern portions of Sumas Mountain Interregional Park, including Chadsey Lake, are managed by the FVRD.

The City of Abbotsford Fire Department supports the closure due to the extreme fire hazard.

Park staff will be patrolling the park to inform members of the public of the fire risk.
