BCHL Grads (One Chilliwack Chief) In NHL Development Camps

Chilliwack, BC – NCAA-bred hockey players now account for 30 per cent of the talent in the NHL and with that in mind, teams are inviting huge numbers of college players to their summer prospects camps.

This year, there were 438 NCAA players invited to NHL camps. Of those, 49 are BCHL graduates and one is a current player.

There are just eight NHL teams that did not have a BCHL alum at their camp this summer. Of the 22 clubs that did, 12 of them had multiple BCHLers attending. There are 13 BCHL clubs represented by these graduates.

Also, Penticton Vees head coach Fred Harbinson attended the Toronto Maple Leafs development camps as a guest coach.
