PGA Tour Winner Taylor Coming To UFV Cascades Pro-Am

Abbotsford/Chilliwack – Another day, another high-profile addition to the field for the UFV Cascades Pro-Am.

Nick Taylor confirmed on Wednesday that he’d be attending the Vancouver Golf Tour event, which runs Monday, June 15 at Chilliwack Golf Club and doubles as a fundraiser for the UFV golf program.

Taylor’s announcement comes one day after fellow PGA Tour pro Adam Hadwin notified organizers that he’d be attending.

There are still a few team spaces available for the Cascades Pro-Am. Each foursome will feature one pro and three amateurs, playing a two-best ball team format. Click here for a registration form.

Taylor, a graduate of Abbotsford’s Yale Secondary and the former No. 1-ranked amateur in the world, broke through on the Web.com Tour in 2014 to earn his PGA Tour card. He wasted little time making his presence felt, winning the Sanderson Farms Championship in November for his first PGA Tour victory. He currently sits 68th on the money list with just over $1 million in earnings this season.

Taylor’s presence rounds out an impressive contingent of local golf luminaries in the Cascades Pro-Am field, including fellow Abbotsford products Hadwin, James Lepp (the 2005 NCAA individual champion) and Ray Stewart (former PGA Tour pro and 1994 Dunhill Cup winner).

“It’s another huge boost to the Pro-Am having Nick back with us this year,” Cascades head golf coach Chris Bertram said. “We are so lucky to have him – and really this whole great golfing community coming together to help support our program. This is shaping up to be a really great day once again.”
