Abbotsford, BC (CBC) – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has charged two men in connection with the death of Guiseppe “Joe” Bengey Zecca who was found severely injured earlier this week on the side of an Abbotsford road.
Zecca, 38, was found suffering from a head injury as well as other life-threatening injuries around 11 p.m. on May 10 by a passing motorist in the area of Vedder Road and Lonzo Road.
Zecca was given medical assistance but died of his injuries at the scene.
IHIT arrested Andre Provencal, 23, on May 11, and charged him with two counts of assault with a weapon. On May 14, Shiloh Davidson, 31, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Vedder Road
Abbotsford police chief Bob Rich said in a statement that the homicide had an impact on everyone’s sense of safety.
“We will continue to seek justice for the victim and his family and friends, and to restore public safety,” he said.
Provencal appeared in court Friday, and Davidson is scheduled to make an appearance May 19.
