Chilliwack Council Expected To Spend Almost $300K For Locker Room Upgrades At Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre

Chilliwack – In the past few weeks, social media has exploded over the recent rash of locker break ins and thefts at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre.

Ironically, this coincides with City Staff looking at a total replacement of the lockers as they have aged out. 40 new hybrid test clockers were installed in 2018 with not one report of a break in.

At Tuesday’s Council session, Council is expected to approve the replacement of 534 lockers at both the Landing and Cheam Leisure Centres at a cost of $290,569 (plus GST).

The purchase will be from Richelieu Building Specialties, who have also provided secure lockers for Port Coquitlam’s pool.

The Agenda mention is here on page 44.
