Agassiz Waste Sorting Open House – New Rules For 2020 – Saturday November 23

Agassiz/Kent – Do you live or work in the District of Kent/Agassiz? Come learn about the new bylaw that applies to you. Free lunch will be provided.

The Fraser Valley Regional District has adopted a waste sorting bylaw that applies to all owners or occupiers of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Harrison Hot Springs, Hope, Kent, Mission and all FVRD Electoral Areas. The bylaw comes into effect on April 1, 2020.

To comply, recyclable and compostable material must be sorted out of the garbage. This means you or your workplace will need different bins for recycling, compost, and garbage. These three types of material must be sorted and kept separate, and delivered to authorized facilities either by you or by a private waste hauler.

You can register with this link.

If you are unable to attend our Community Open House, you can also find many resources at www.BeWasteWise.com or call the recycling hotline at 1-800-667-4321.
