Chilliwack RCMP Execute Search Warrant In Assault/Home Invasion Case

Chilliwack – RCMP Serious Crime Unit (SCU) searched a residence as officers’ conduct their investigation of a home invasion reported to police over the weekend.

On Sunday March 10, around 1:00 a.m. the Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of a 42-year-old man suffering non-life-threatening injuries, who had been transported the hospital. RCMP investigators quickly connected the report to an earlier incident at a residence in the 46000-block of Norrish Avenue.

Late in the morning of Monday March 11, Chilliwack SCU officers supported by the Chilliwack General Investigation Support Team (GIST), Lower Mainland District Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), and general duty officers executed a search warrant at the Norrish Avenue address. Evidence associating the occurrence to the address was seized by police during the search.

Chilliwack RCMP investigators are in the early evidence gathering stage of their investigation and do not believe the incident was a random act, says Corporal Mike Rail spokesperson for the UFVRD.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
