Chilliwack – On the heels of City Council granting the zoning permit and possible death knell to historic Paisley House, some great news for local heritage buffs.
The City congratulated Laura Reid, President of the Heritage Chilliwack Society for being selected to the city of Chilliwack Heritage Commission.
She received a formal letter from Mayor Ken Popove this week welcoming her.
Reid said:“So glad to finally have the city on the side of preserving our heritage in a meaningful and productive manner in the years to come.”
Councilor Sue Attrill has been overseeing many heritage projects over the past few years while the City has been working on assembling the Heritage Commission.
At the most recent council meeting, Councilor Bud Mercer let slip that the commission should be in place by the fall.
