Chilliwack Fire – Suspicious Vacant House Fire On Yale Road

Chilliwack – On Thursday morning (@ 4AM), firefighters from Chilliwack fire halls 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6 responded to a structure fire in the 51000 block of Yale Road (Rosedale).

When firefighters arrived they found a vacant, single family residential home with flames and smoke showing from the building attic.

Access to the site was challenging due to the overgrowth of brush. Firefighters confined the fire to the house and an excavator was brought in to demolish the building to complete extinguishment.

No one was hurt.

The fire is under investigation by the Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP.

Chilliwack Fire remind owners of vacant homes there is an increased risk when it comes to firefighter safety and property damage including vandalism, theft and or fire damage.
