chillTV On Air Talent Search

Chilliwack – chillTV started in 2018 as the brainchild of Berris Karden, whose background includes ecovideo and Zajac Ranch, and Wayne Bjorge of VBN Sports.

Together they came up with an idea to go to YouTube with a community video channel to replace the now defunct Shaw Community Channel. Shaw closed many of its community outlets in August 2017.

That left a void that needed to be filled for the Fraser Valley. Shaw had laid off personnel and moved equipment to their all news channel BC1 in Burnaby.

In their brief time on air through YouTube, chillTV has covered the 2018 Municipal debates, election night results and the Rotary Christmas Parade.

chillTV , VBN and FVN Fraser Valley News are now on the hunt for on air and behind the scenes talent. If you are interested in reading news on air and comfortable in front of a camera, or you want to be part of the crew, from camera operator to makeup, design, writing and other off air duties, now is the time to get into action.

mp3, resumes and videos can be sent to chillTV President Berris Karden at berriskarden@outlook.com or call 604 679 3637.

You can also send your audition to fvn@shaw.ca 604 392 5834.

Potential investors and advertisers can contact Berris.

In early 2019, chillTV plans to launch an information/news/public affairs program and are looking for aspiring journalists, students or semi-pros to join the team.
