District Of Mission – Public Burning Ban On All Charcoal Briquettes

Mission  – By order of the Fire Chief of the District of Mission, the current open burning ban has been expanded and now includes a ban on all burning of charcoal briquettes in public spaces including parks, greenspaces, and the Tree Farm (TFL#26) within the District of Mission. 

Due to continued dry weather and high temperatures the open burning ban has been expanded  to include a ban on the use charcoal briquettes in all public spaces within the District of Mission. 

This includes parks, greenspaces, and the surrounding forest including the Stave West Forest & Recreation Area and Tree Farm Licence #26. 

Gas and propane barbecues that are CSA-rated or ULC-rated are still permitted under the ban provided the flame is at least 30 centimeters above the ground and that height of the flame is less than 15 centimeters.
