UPDATE – Columbia Valley Residents Urged To Keep An Eye On Border Crossings

Fraser Valley – On the Facebook page “Columbia Valley”, former Columbia Valley Fire Chief and Paramedic Darcy Henderson posted a card that the RCMP have sent to various residents. In a nutshell, asking home and land owners to keep an eye out for anything unusual when it comes to border crossings out in the bush and mountains.

The RCMP have been in the neighbourhood and would enjoy hearing from you regarding any unusual border activity. They have provided these contact options. As always, for emergencies dial 911.

Chilliwack RCMP Media Officer Cpl. Mike Rail told FVN that they know about the awareness campaign, and  it’s not administered locally. It’s through FSOC , Federal Serious Organized Crime unit in charge of border integrity. This card campaign was not for any new threat. It was a continuation of keeping border residents on the alert, if they see anything out of the ordinary.

CBSA – Canada Border Services Agency told FVN that they are NOT involved with this campaign. They too will be updating if they become involved.

If you have also received this card, what was your reaction in the Valley?
