Mission RCMP members immediately began CPR including the use of a portable defibrillator carried in the police car, until BC Ambulance Service arrived and they took over resuscitation efforts. BC Ambulance service transported the little girl with police escort to Mission Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Mission RCMP Serious Crimes Unit and the BC Coroners Office are investigating.  The license for the daycare has been suspended.
