Abbotsford – APRIL 19 UPDATE – The official groundbreaking for new constructions and upgrades of Jubilee Park will be at Noon, Friday April 20.
Officials from the Provincial Government, City of Abbotsford, and the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association (ADBA) will be present for the groundbreaking of the Jubilee Park Improvement Project.
Jubilee Park will be upgraded to enhance safety, improve visibility and increase parking.
APRIL 5 ORIGINAL STORY – A $2.7M facelift to Jubilee Park is ready to start within days and that means new digs for the annual Jam In Jubilee (and for the annual Abbotsford Downtown Business Association Car Show). In a nutshell, the lawn bowling club with move to Mill Lake Park and in its place, a natural amphitheater facing the old Centennial Library. That’s where Jam In Jubilee will call home in July.
If you have never experienced Jam In Jubilee, it’s a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural concert series that runs for four Thursday nights each summer in Abbotsford’s Jubilee Park. Each night, a crowd of local culture-lovers enjoys three musical acts, side-stage performances, a vendor market, interactive art installations, workshops, food trucks, craft beer, and an “After Hours” musical showcase.
The 2018 concert series has yet to be announced, but they have a strong social media presence with their website, Facebook and Twitter. Keep an eye for the 2018 announcement.
