Chilliwack RCMP – Charges Laid In On-line Date Robbery

Chilliwack – Two people from Chilliwack are facing charges after being arrested by RCMP for an alleged on-line dating robbery.

The charges stem from a call received by the Chilliwack RCMP on Thursday April 5, 2018 (@4:30PM) to report a person had been robbed at knife point while visiting an apartment in the 9400-block of Cook Street.

Officers arrived at the address where their investigation led them to evidence linking an on-line dating site and a pair of individuals to the robbery. The suspects were quickly located and taken into custody by police.

25 year old Alexis Kasey Nicole Neill and 27 year old Kyle James Wall each face one charge of robbery.

“RCMP caution that everyone you meet on-line may not be who they represent themselves to be. Use discretion when going out on those first dates,” says UFVRD Corporal Mike Rail .
On-line dating tips:

· Make first dates in a public place.

· Tell a friend about your date plans.

· Drive to the date and home by yourself.

· Stay sober.

RCMP remind everyone who witnesses anything they believe to be suspicious in nature to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
