Abbotsford Community Clean-Up Week Beautifies Neighbourhoods April 16 – 22

Abbotsford – Abbotsford residents are encouraged to pick litter up around their workplace, school, community trails and streets during Community Clean-Up Week from April 16 – 22, 2018.

Residents can volunteer their time to help beautify their neighbourhood and do their part for Earth Day.

In 2017, 2,926 residents participated in Community Clean-Up program. These participants included local residents, community groups, organizations and local schools. Classes from Centennial Park Elementary School, Godson Elementary School, Margaret Stenerson Elementary School, MEI Middle School, MEI Elementary School, Rick Hansen Secondary School, Ross Elementary School, Sandy Hill Elementary School, St. James Elementary School, WJ Mouat Secondary School and Yale Secondary School who contributed to beautifying their city.

This initiative provides teachers with a great way to link the Ministry of Education, Prescribed Learning Outcomes to a practical, hands-on, learning opportunity for students. The City of Abbotsford would like to challenge residents to get involved in Community Clean-up Week.

To get involved:
1. Register at www.abbotsford.ca/volunteerapplication by April 10, 2018.

Yellow garbage bags can be placed with your household garbage pick-up. Extra garbage stickers are not required.
