Glenda Rae And The Essentials – In Harrison – Saturday April 14 (Video)

Harrison – “if the rock icons Steely Dan added Annie Lennox as their lead vocalist.”

Pretty heady stuff to describe Glenda Rae And The Essentials, but when you hear them, you’ll understand.

On Saturday April 14th, Glenda Rae & The Essentials will be bringing their highly improvisational form of pop rock and blue eyed soul to the Harrison Memorial
Hall.

The Essentials are top notch, highly accomplished players in their own rights. Guitarist and vocalist Brett Wade, a Chilliwack native, has been well known in Canadian music since the 1960s as a member of psychedelic legends The Electric Prunes, as well as the Dale Jacobs Band, the Wade Bros., and Stallion
Thumrock. Miles Black is a renowned keyboard player, with a profound background as a jazz improviser and also strong songwriting chops. Underlying the band is the groove of one of Vancouver’s finest drummers, Phil Robertson, who was at Harrison just last year with Steelin’ in the Years.

With a jazz sensibility, the band approaches each performance of these songs with a fresh outlook.

The concert will begin at 8:00pm on Saturday, April 14 inside the Harrison Memorial Hall. Doors will open at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at harrisonfestival.com, by calling 604-796-3554, or at the Agassiz Shoppers Drug Mart.
