Surrey And Major Businesses Promote Skilled Career Opportunities (VIDEO)

Surrey – The City of Surrey has launched a Surrey Talent campaign with 8 other Surrey-based employers in the tech, professional services, and engineering sectors that are seeking qualified talent. The campaign raises awareness to career opportunities in Surrey and consists of a series of 1 minute, high energy, day-in-a-life videos that showcase the challenging work and vibrant lifestyle of working in Surrey.

“Surrey’s growth into Metro Vancouver’s second metropolitan centre is transforming the City into a regional employment destination,” said Mayor Linda Hepner. “We have an abundance of skilled job opportunities and this is the chance for innovative, intelligent people who like challenging the status quo to come and be a part of the transformation at ground zero.”

On average, there are 1,000 job opportunities in Surrey at any given point and the ever growing demand for talent is drawing regional attention, with over 47,000 workers currently commuting from outside the City to Surrey. The campaign has started with a 3-month focus on raising awareness within the Metro Vancouver region with future plans on expanding the campaign into the Cascadia Innovation Corridor later this year.

Companies participating in the campaign include Frozen Mountain Software, Safe Software, Coast Capital Savings, Aplin Martin, Central City Brewers and Distillers, Century Group, Powertech Labs, and PwC.
