Abbotsford – Early Monday morning (May 8, 2017, at 3:50 am) Abbotsford Police Department received a report of an alarm at the Sevenoaks Alliance Church located in the 2500 block of Gladwin Road. Upon arrival Abbotsford Fire Rescue and APD members located a fire on the east side of building. AFRS personnel worked for an extended period of time to extinguish the blaze that had moved up into the roof of the structure.
APD and AFRS are investigating this incident and are appealing to witnesses and others with any information.
Of particular note is that the fire would likely have been visible to vehicular traffic on Gladwin Road and to residents living in the high rise and other area condominiums.
APD is asking anyone who may have seen something at or near the church this morning to call us.
