Agassiz/Seabird Island Arson Investigation

Agassiz – RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance as police investigate an alleged arson which happened in November.

On November 15, 2016 at approximately 3:45 p.m. RCMP received a report of a structure fire in the 3400-block of Chowat Road.  General Duty and General Investigation Section (GIS) officers arrived at the address where fire fighters from Agassiz Fire Department (AFD) and Seabird Island Fire Department had extinguished the blaze of an unoccupied home. 

Police and AFD investigators determined the source of the fire was suspicious.

Investigators from Agassiz RCMP GIS supported by AFD and the Integrated Forensic Investigation Section have gathered evidence from the scene and canvassed neighbours as they pursue their investigation into the fire.
