Abbotsford Senior Faces Child Porn Charges

Abbotsford – After a year-long investigation by Major Crime Unit (MCU) detectives of the Abbotsford Police Department, 61-year-old Barry GRANBOIS was arrested and charged with Accessing, Possessing and Making Available Child Pornography.

APD investigators executed a search warrant at GRANBOIS’ residence in July 2016 and computers, memory sticks, hard drives, cameras and phones were seized. An examination of these items showed evidence of the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

GRANBOIS has been released by the court with the following conditions:

No contact or communication with any young person who reasonably appears to be under the age of 18.

Not to attend any public park, school ground, daycare centre, swimming pool, playground, skating rink, community centre or recreation centre where persons under the age of 18 are present or might reasonably be expected to be present.

Not to possess or utilize any electronic device capable of accessing the internet.

Not to engage in any activity that involves contact or communication with persons under the age of 18, including the use of a computer system.
