Snow on the OK Connector

Okanagan (InfoNews.com – Vernon) – Heavy rain and snow in higher elevations across southern B.C. has Environment Canada warning drivers to be prepared. ENVIRONMENT CANADA SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

A special weather statement issued today says a strong fall storm is spreading heavy rain inland from the coast and urges caution on nearly all mountain passes accumulating snow.

Rainfalls of up to 50 millimetres are expected by Sunday morning with up to 70 mm on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt. Visibility will be reduced in heavy rain. It warns of five to 10 cms of snow on the Okanagan Connector before it turns to rain later today. It also warns of snow on Kootenay Pass and Rogers Pass.
