This is the perfect opportunity to come see all the artistic, fun things happening at the city’s hub of creativity – The Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Watch potters, musicians, actors and crafters demonstrate the pure joy of creative expression as The Centre swings open its doors once more for people to come look around and help celebrate five years of entertainment and art! Ever expanding the variety of creative opportunities available to the community, The Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society invites you to come explore what is new and exciting in this fantastic venue on October 3, 2015 from 11am to 3pm.
Have a stroll through the multitude of Art and Music Studios and observe various artists produce masterpieces right before your eyes, or wander in to Rotary Hall Studio Theatre and enjoy our incredible local talent showcase their work, everything from dance to music to theatre. Marvelous local artists and artisans will display their work in the Artist Village and reveal some of the mysteries of how their work is achieved.
Lots of fun for the kids taking place as well with our annual treasure hunt – grab a Passport for the young ones to get stamped as they scout out this marvelous facility. Learn about kids’ art classes and the after school art camps now offered in The Centre’s studios, or check out the Music Academy’s upcoming classes. Everything from Super Mud to Music Makers, there is something for every child to stir up creativity. You can even sign them up right away at The Centre Box Office. Complimentary cake and juice as well as a Hot Dog sale for rumbling tummies will also be available.
Many of the fantastic creative groups throughout our city will also be represented as groups like The Chilliwack Players Guild, Chilliwack Arts Council, Chilliwack School of Performing Arts, Chilliwack Visual Artists Association, The Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and many, many more will be on hand to answer questions and give insight into what their organizations provide. A resident in the building, The Chilliwack Academy of Music will also have their studios open for people to see what is available for all the music lovers in our community and to explore the many classes offered. You can even take home some of your own music from the Academy’s Music Sale upstairs and get started on your own musical journey.
