APD Investigates Two Arsons at Ellwood Centre

Abbotsford, BC – On Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 2:15 pm, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service and the Abbotsford Police were called to a dumpster fire in the 31200 block of Maclure Road at Ellwood Centre. Surveillance video was reviewed and a suspect was observed. He was a Caucasian man in his 20’s with a slim build and wearing a pink t-shirt and grey pants. The suspect was riding a skateboard.

On Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 7:30 am, AFRS and the APD were again called to the same location for a second dumpster fire. Again surveillance video was reviewed and the suspect appeared to be the same man, wearing the same clothing and again riding a skateboard. Although both of these fires were extinguished quickly, they were acts of arson and the potential for damage to property and injuries to people was very real.

APD investigators are hoping that someone will recognize this suspect.
