Adventure Charters Inter-City Bus – Connecting The Fraser Valley To BC (VIDEO)

Fraser Valley/Williams Lake – A little more than a month after Adventure Charters received final approval from Transport Canada to operate two inter-city bus routes in the Cariboo, Fraser Canyon, and Kamloops regions of BC; one from Prince George through the Fraser Valley to Surrey through the scenic Fraser Canyon, and the second from Williams Lake to Kamloops, the company reports steadily increasing ridership.

The passenger bus service schedule, fare, route and reservations are available on their website at www.adventurecharters.ca, and their Facebook page has the most up-to-date news and changes: https://www.facebook.com/AdventureChartersWL.

“Based on our projected ridership goals, the Kamloops route is on par with our three-month goal,” says company owner, Janna Gertzen, further adding the popular Surrey-Prince George route travellers have surpassed their six-month goals.  She says people are communicating that they’re thrilled that they’re able to travel again.  Riders are already calling the company to inquire about travel over the Christmas holiday season.

Janna Gertzen, Adventure Charters:

The privately owned and family-run company is fiercely proud to share the ‘community’ factor that the Cariboo is known for with other communities along their routes.  “It’s fascinating learning people’s stories and reasons for travelling,” Janna explains, which are often shared when tickets are booked by phone.  “We’ve had several riders with special circumstances or needs, and we go out of our way not only to accommodate those needs, but to provide an entirely personalized service.”  She describes it as ‘small town, family-run business on a much broader scale’.  With bigger companies, a person isn’t likely to get the same person twice when you call, leave alone one that will remember you and your story the next time you call.

The company researched the most convenient and safest locations for passengers to board and exit along each route, by travelling to each location. The buses stop in several smaller communities when tickets are pre-booked.  Currently, those communities are Prince George, Hixon, Quesnel, Kersley, McLeese Lake, Soda Creek, Wildwood, Williams Lake, 150 Mile House, Lac la Hache, 100 Mile House, 70 Mile House, Clinton, Cache Creek, Kamloops, Hope, Spences Bridge, Lytton, Boston Bar, Yale, Chilliwack, Abbottsford and Surrey.   The routes and schedules were well thought-out and then optimized to allow passengers to transfer to other public transportation infrastructure already existing.

The company has been working closely with a third-party online reservation system to develop a custom experience for their riders.  The new ticketing system is designed to be very user-friendly, and provides the most secure method for their clients to process payment.  Passengers are encouraged to book at least 24-hours in advance to their preferred travel date.

The Adventure Charters bus that travels from Williams Lake to Kamloops has a capacity of 20, while the Prince George to Surrey bus can accommodate as many as 36 people, and Gertzen assures the company is ready to grow their fleet further, if need be.

The inter-city bus service is ideal for more than a straight shot trip from Point A to Point B, too. “We invite everyone to give Adventure Charters Inter-City Bus a try,” smiles Janna. “It’s a great excuse to explore and enjoy these beautiful, historic regions, without having to hold the steering wheel – or pay for gas.”
