Paddle the Slough Challenge in Chilliwack

Chilliwack – From May 15-June 20, Patagonia grantee Watershed Watch_ is holding their annual Paddle the Slough Challenge in Chilliwack. You’re encouraged to participate in this year’s event and be entered for a chance to win local prizes.

This involved Nelson Slough, Camp Slough, Hope Slough, Bear Slough/ West Camp Slough.

The 4th annual paddling event from Watershed Watch Salmon Society and Friends of the Camp/Hope Slough normally host an annual canoe tour, this year they’ll be doing things a little differently to keep the event pandemic-friendly.

From May 15 to June 20, grab your sibling, partner, roommate or anyone in your bubble to embark on a unique adventure- exploring the various sloughs and waterways in Chilliwack. It’s a great way to explore nature that is close to home… and you might be surprised at what you see along the way! While on your adventure, snap some pics of yourself and your group and then send them to engagement@watershedwatch.ca for a chance to win some awesome prizes.

This tour will take place over 6 weeks, so you have plenty of time to pick your ideal paddle days and weather.

You understand and agree to waive any and all claims that you, your family, heirs or assigns have or may in the future have against Watershed Watch Salmon Society as a result of your participation in this activity, due to any cause whatsoever. You recognize the innate risks associated with these activities.

By participating, you also confirm that:

  • You are not currently experiencing cold or flu symptoms, including coughing, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, fatigue
  • You have not been in contact with anyone showing the symptoms listed above
  • You have not travelled outside of Canada within the last two weeks
  • You will restrain from any physical contact during this event (e.g. handshaking or hugging)
  • Physical distancing of at least 2 meters/ 6 feet will be maintained at all times during this event
