Chilliwack – At Tuesday’s meeting of the Chilliwack School Board, the updated five year capital plan submissions will be discussed as well as the upcoming budget:
The 20-21 Budget will come in around $116M with approximately $1M surplus.
On the agenda for the May 26 meeting, there is also a mention that the Board of Education presented a notice of motion to censure another trustee. However, there is no mention as to who was discussed or who initially presented the motion, let alone other details. (In Camera).
Annual Five-Year Capital Plan submissions from boards of education are used by the Ministry to determine which priority capital projects may be included in the Ministry’s Capital Plan for the following fiscal year. The capital plan submissions also provide the Ministry with important insight into future year capital priorities, which can be used for longer term government planning and the determination of potential future capital funding requirements for the public education system.
The Ministry is seeking capital project requests under the following capital programs:
Annual Capital Programs:
•School Enhancement Program (SEP)
•Carbon Neutral Capital Program (CNCP)
•Bus Acquisition Program (BUS)
•Playground Equipment Program (PEP)
•Building Envelope Program (BEP)
Major Capital Programs:
•Seismic Mitigation Program (SMP)
•School Expansion Program (EXP)
•School Replacement Program (REP)
